Afghan Colours and Birthday Plans
My Knitpicks yarn finally showed up, so I'm ready to get started. I've got 9 colours, but after playing with them and trying to come up with an attractive combination of stripes, I decided I don't like the green in there. The other 8 suddenly look so much nicer. I haven't decided if I'm going for a random stripe pattern, or a particular sequence. I've got the initial order planned out, and once I've completed one pass with each colour, I'll decide what to do then. I have no idea how wide to make this afghan!
Tomorrow morning is my spinning class at Gemini Fibres. Exciting! I've been spinning a lot the last two weeks and have improved a lot, but I'm really looking forward to learning some actual techniques rather than what I've been doing, which is basically making it up as I go along. The class is a full day, from 9-3.
Sunday is my 32nd birthday. Tomorrow I'm going to nap after my class so I can be rested for company. A few friends are coming over for drinks and Wii. On Sunday, my family is bringing me a cake and some dinner. Natalie is making salmon with ginger and some other stuff - she's preparing it at home and then cooking it here. Should be a really nice weekend.
Oh, yeah...Jeremy taught Alex how to shave last night. CRAZY!

It's the Soft Waves stitch pattern from 200 Ripple Stitch Patterns by Jan Eaton. I linked to a crochetalong in my previous post, and there are lots of photos of the pattern there.
I tried the generator already, and I wasn't happy with what I got. The colour choices in the generator don't correlate very well with the actual colours I have, and the results weren't great. I don't know.

Joseph was playing with his chin this morning and I asked him if he had stubble. I am expecting it any time now but nothing yet. I am so not looking forward to it.

Yijie missed her transfer due to short time between and long immigration line, so I will be up allllll night, 1am arrival. Yeah!
