Clown Vomit: Okay, so it's not as bad as I made out. After sleeping on it some more, I decided to finish spinning it up and then we'll see.

Boring Irises: Also, not nearly as bad as I thought. Now that I can see it spun up, I actually really like it. I still think it would have been better, were it a little bit on the brighter side.

My latest attempt, late last night. I think it's my favourite so far. Since I can't think of any flattering names, I've been calling this one, Bruise. All three of these are corriedale fibre.

This turned out great, but I have to admit that I liked it better in the roving than in the finished yarn. This one is going to be Monkey socks.

Call me nuts, but I like Clown Vomit best of all. You're doing beautiful things here!

I like Clown Vomit too!
I like them all. It's amazing, what you're doing. I'm mystified.

Mags, the Clown Vomit ends up looking super. I really enjoy Bruise as well, can't wait to see that one spun out. Good for you! Love all the pictures.

I like that very much. I REALLY have to get started on trying to dye some roving. Now I'm getting jealous but I'm still chicken I'll mess up. Not to mention the space issue in my kitchen.

Well, I like ALL of them! That's what I love about playing with fiber: the way it looks in the dyepot is not the way it looks when the fiber is dry which is not the way it looks spun which is not the way it looks plied which is not the way it looks rolled into a ball which is not the way it looks knit up. Really, you never know! It can go from ugly to gorgeous and back again.

This is so true. Also, it doesn't help when you're spinning to romantic incandescent lighting, which appeared to dull all the colours. Although I'm still not keen on Clown Vomit, and as I mentioned in the previous post, there are places where the colours blend pretty badly in the spun singles. I'm just trying to avoid ending up with muddy results.
(And I think I tend to be hard on myself.)

really beautiful spinning! Isn't it amazing what the fiber looks like spun up compared to the roving?
