I’ll be moving my site over to a new server over the next few days. See you later!
I actually did some knitting today. Remember this? Yes! I picked it up and knit a couple of inches. I’m on the back - the final piece before seaming - and I’m almost halfway to the underam. But for some reason I just wasn’t in the mood. I was restless and bored all day, and when I’m in a mood like that, I can’t really concentrate on anything. My son is spending tonight and tomorrow at his grandparents’ and Jeremy is at work until midnight. I think I’m going to sit on the deck and drink some wine until I puke.
But first I’ll mention the visit from the exterminator. He wants us to continue to rip the all the drywall from the wall and repair the studs. Then we’re to call him back to spray everything, including basement, crawlspace, attic and perimeter. Being the genius I am, I completely forgot to ask how much it would cost. I’ll have to call him to find out.
I think he wants us to rip it out because if we hired him to clean out the area it would be too costly. He seemed like a really nice man, and even asked if we could keep the stud with all the ant tunnels intact so he could take it with him when he goes to classrooms to talk to kids about insects. I thought that was really neat and I promised the piece was his.
On Tuesday afternoon we’re getting an estimate on new siding and repairs. I guess I’ll be ulcer-free until then, when I see exactly how much $$ we’re looking to lose.
Jeremy’s off tomorrow and so commences Operation Drywall and cross your fingers the damage is localized!
There is nothing more I would like than to post a whole bunch of pictures of my beautiful new home. Unfortunately my new home is a semi-disasterous 50 year old home that needs more in repair than we had originally thought. For instance, getting rid of our 2000-3000 new pe(s)ts.

Behold the Beauty!
The weekend was great and I’m sad it’s over. Visits with the Americans are always too short. On Thursday we made a half-assed excursion downtown to check out a few shops and eat Mexican. Friday was our first party in our new home, and I was much too stressed out to properly enjoy it. Everyone assures me it was a lot of fun, even though the weather truly sucked ass. Saturday Jeremy had to work so we all headed to the drive-in without him, where Debbie, Randy, Alex and I froze our asses watching The War of the Worlds outside while Nicci and her hubs watched it all nice-and-toasty from their car. Debbie and I (secretly) shared a bottle of wine which kept us at least somewhat warm.
The lovely Athena714 warmed our house by sending us a beautiful candle of her own creation. Lemon-ginger in a tin…if you want your bathroom to smell like pie (and who doesn’t?) you need to get your own.
Sandra, who was thwarted in her attempt to buy us a fondue set, got us something much more house-warmery…fishies! A cute little tank with a couple of goldfish now sit in our living room. Alex is supposed to name them but hasn’t come up with anything yet. So far so good, we’ve had them since Friday and they’re still alive!
Knitting? Nope. Not until our laundry room is sufficiently purple.
