While I was shopping for buttons for my cardigan I bought material for the first time. What a totally daunting experience. I had no idea what the hell I was looking for, nor how to buy it. Fabric everywhere! First I looked around until I found something I rather liked and thought would make a cute casual bag. Once I found it I didn’t know what to do. Most of the people that worked in Fabricland didn’t seem to want to help me because I couldn’t make eye contact with anyone. Finally I found a nice lady that explained how the store worked, and that I was supposed to bring the bolt to a cutting table and she cut some material for me.

My first sewing project

My sister Natalie has been beading for a couple of years and last night she gave me a couple of lessons and I made these stitch markers. I’ve never been interested in beaded stitch markers before and I always thought the weight of them would interfere with my knitting. As it turns out, their weight is what makes them so nice to use. And they’re beautiful.
